Sustainability Policy
Approach: reduce first, then offset—always report with transparency.
1) Footprint measurement & offsetting (CO₂e)
We calculate the footprint per air and ground leg using recognized factors (e.g., DEFRA/ICAO) and convert everything to CO₂e.
Scopes covered: aircraft fuel, ground transfers, hotel nights (standard factors), and expedition logistics.
We offset 100% via verified projects (Gold Standard / Verra). “Climate-positive” 200% available on request.
You receive a compensation certificate and a post-trip summary (methodology, totals per traveler, and funded projects).
2) Reduction before offsetting
Route & weight optimization: soft, limited luggage; avoid unnecessary repositioning flights.
Seasonal planning to minimize delays/extra consumption.
Sustainable hotels whenever available; preference for renewables and responsible operations.
Lower-impact menus on city days without compromising quality.
3) Positive local impact
Target ≥70% of operational spend with local providers and guides; ultra-small groups (≤3 pax) to reduce pressure on sites.
Fair pay, formal hiring, and local procurement whenever viable.
4) Responsible mountain travel
We follow Leave No Trace (7 principles):
carry-in/carry-out, zero single-use plastics, safe waste and sanitation management.
Trails & wildlife: no off-trail travel without authorization; keep safe distances; drones only with permits.
On-site education: environmental briefing in every destination.
5) Water & energy in the field
Water treatment via filters/UV; each traveler brings a reusable bottle (no single-use PET).
Smart charging (power banks/solar where applicable); responsible use of cooking fuels.
6) Conservation & donations
Per-traveler donation to local initiatives (park services/rangers, trail clean-ups, wetland/steppe restoration).
Amount and recipients are defined in your proposal and listed in the post-trip report.
7) Transparency & continuous improvement
Post-expedition report covering: total and per-traveler CO₂e, % local spend, waste removed, and funded projects.
Feedback channel and annual review of goals/KPIs.
8) Traveler commitment
By booking, each traveler agrees to the Responsible Mountain Pledge: use a reusable bottle, stay on trails and respect wildlife, follow LNT, comply with weight/luggage limits, and follow guide decisions for safety and conservation.
